Valleybikes was commissioned to build a commuter bicycle for a teacher living in BGC. It is to be used as a means of transportation around BGC because the tall teacher taught and lived in the modern business district. Since the rider is 6 feet 3 inches, the crew had to search for a large frame that ran on 700c tires.
The task wasn’t easy for it was the year 2020, when COVID19 struck the world and people turned to cycling as their way of moving around faster. Instead of taking the public utility vehicle, people preferred to go biking (for social distancing), thus the cycling industry boom. Large frames are rare here in the Philippines due to the relatively sub 5’9″ height of the locals, so that added extra challenge. Luckily, we struck gold!
Valleybikes found the frame and had it repainted to Pantone Universe. We looked for the perfect moustache bar for the commuter and rear rack to go with the look. The wooden crate is an addition to the rack, so as to easily transport grocery and school supplies for the teacher.
Steel fenders were customized in Marikina. We had to buy the Japanese fenders and produce brackets for the mounting of the fenders. After it was attached, cruising was such a joy. No more water splash!
Thank you, Sir for trusting Valleybikes.net in building your single speed commuter bike. Enjoy the ride around BGC!
