There is a new bike trail in Barangay Humayingan in Lian, Batangas! Yes, we built a bike trail at Camp Valleybikes in Lian, Batangas. The good news came fast and the whole occurrence left us startled and surprised, but it is now ride-able. It all started when the bike park was greenlit by the owner of Camp Valleybikes. The place initially had no name but we dub it as “Camp Valleybikes” to highlight the awesome bike trail as the best feature of the land.
How To Build A Bike Park
Get the best trail builders– As a mountain bike rider, you get to ride a lot of bike parks. Ask around and research on who built what and decide who to tap. You like that trail? Go find out who built it. It is not an easy task to canvass and get the right trail builder/ contractor for your dream bike park… but it is worth it!
Ocular– The Master Trail Builder must go and see the canvass. The trail is like an art work, it should be given much thought and careful planning. The Master must feel and ride the natural terrain of the land. Where is the highest point? Up to where can we extend and build? Not just see the land, the builders must feel and experience the land.
Planning and Schedule– In any project, the planning and pre-production of the whole thing is very crucial. All things must be well plotted and discussed. The gathering of crucial information, tools, and process must be ironed out and written (preferably) so that people will have something to look back to. Plans, agreements, rules and other aspects should be clear with all parties involved. Remember, we are building a bike park (something FUN!!!), no bad vibes allowed!
Gather materials– Tools needed and planks. Power tools are the best, but they are costly. Itaks, rakes, shovels, hoes are your best companions, get the best quality for they will break. You gotta invest on quality blades and tools. Wooden planks are blessings as well. Get the best you can find in the market.
Execute– IT is fun, but it is not easy. Yet with the right crew and positive attitude, the work becomes less hard. Music is important in keeping the spirits up. Jokes, fun stories and laughter make the task at hand enjoyable sometimes. Rest when tired, go under the shade when the sun’s too hot. Eat and hydrate regularly to avoid heat strokes. Ride the results at the end of each day, and you would realize, it is all worth it.
