Valleybikes was commissioned to build a vintage bike cruiser. We tapped our classic bicycle source, Lee and partnered with him for this creation.
This bike rides differently. It is stable and it makes your cycling experience enjoyable. It coasts steadily as if people were meant to look at you and admire the bike’s presence.
There is a certain aura of timelessness in the bike’s stance that can transport you from the present back up to the 1950’s. This piece of relic is a memorable antique which is at the same time a functional machine for FUN.
There is a working horn on the frame tank— when you press the yellow button, a weird electrical sound buzzes for the Hornet.
The stance of the rider is upright when using this bike. More time to smile and appreciate the sights and sounds when cruising down the block!
Wherever you look at the bike, any angle is beautiful. If you scrutinize and look at the details of this build, you can see the hard work and effort put into this art.
Thick rims, metal sheets, wide fenders and a lot more make this cruiser really heavy, but all these parts come with intricate details to make the whole bike really premium.
Some find it corny or inappropriate, but the tassels were really part of the Schwinn bikes from the store when they were sold back then. Just restoring it to its original state. Hate it or love it, it makes the ride unique. Blow it baby!
Here is a short video of the Schwinn Hornet and our village ride:
This Schwinn Hornet will continue to be a conversational piece whether as a Sunday bicycle or just a piece of art in your living room or office or cafe. The spirit of the 50’s is embodied in this customized bike, thanks to the builders and restorers. Peace!
