The BMX Will Bring You Places

Congratulations to Daniel Caluag for bagging the first gold medal for the Philippines in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. Everybody was watching the Gilas Pilipinas team but the gold came from The Biker. This guy’s got serious skills in handling his 20 inch BMX bike.

Inq.net states: “Caluag consistently topped the three heats of the race, finishing the final run with a record of 35.489 seconds. He was followed by Japan’s Masahiro Sampei, who won silver, and Korea’s Young Kim, who notched the bronze medal.”

My wish: Big corporations should start funding our Filipino cyclists and actually give sponsorship to our serious bikers. Let’s have more professional riders here in the Philippines. Filipinos really don’t excel too much in team games, yet we do fair well in individual sports (boxing, bowling, billiards, etc.)… so I hope you guys get my drift.
