Summer is around the corner and you know the drill… you have to get out and catch some rays! The human body is designed in such a way that the skin produces vitamin D once it is exposed to sunlight. So bring out your bike and pedal under the sun, just don’t forget the essentials.
SUMMER TIPS FOR THE BIKERS:
- Put sun screen lotion. Mr. Sun can be cruel sometimes. Over exposure to them rays may cause sunburn. So always wear your sunscreen.
- Gotta wear shades. The glare, the mud, dust and other elements are kept off your eyes if you are wearing shades. It also helps if the pair of sunglasses is polarized. It helps reduce glare (sunlight reflection coming from body of water or solid objects) so you can see things better. Plus polarized lenses help reduce the harmful UV rays.
- Always hydrate. Drink as much water as you can. You sweat a lot when cycling, thus replenish the lost liquid in your body by consuming water as much as possible.
It is nice to bike to a swimming destination. Have you tried that? We used to pedal to a secret spot in Wawa Dam. It’s a long and hot journey, but when you arrive in the natural pool, you’ll realize that it was all worth it.
Get quality shades. One that doesn’t distort your vision. AND looks cool at the same time.
